Savannah Charm!

There is a jewel of a city that lies along the Georgia coast that is a must see and perhaps a must marry there experience. This city is lovely Savannah, a historic and cultural wonderland. Founded in 1733 by General Oglethorpe it became the Colonial capital of Ga.
Savannah has a tropical humid climate and is known for it's gorgeous gardens, historic district, old churches and famous restaurants. If you are searching for a unique spot to wed then you might look into Savannah's historic churches that include the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, famous for it's Gothic architecture and Christ Church with it's Corinthian columns. Both of these churches are historical landmarks in Savannah.
If you are looking to sight see or make your honeymoon in Savannah then a charming bed and breakfast or a fine hotel in historic old Savannah will fill the bill quiet nicely. You will of course wish to take in the sights like Savannah squares, lovely garden areas which are home to bubbling fountains, ancients oaks and a profusion of colorful flowers. Azaleas, dogwoods, camellias, tulips and jonquils present a feast for the eyes and you will wish to snap a lot of pictures to show your friends and family back home..  The Squares are also a great place to propose.  Find a secluded bench, kneel down and pop the question to your beloved, she will be enchanted.
You might enjoy a leisurely  ride in a horse drawn carriage to see the historic homes that line the streets and boulevards.  Juliette Lowe, the founder of the girl scouts has a home here, Sorrel Weed House William Scarborough house and Wormsloe Plantation are other interesting sights of interest. If you wish to elude the beaten path, then check out the Tybee Island Light House, a famous landmark along the coast.
Savannah besides being famous for it's rich history and traditions is also famous for it's cuisine.  Restaurants you just have to check out are the 1790 Inn and Restaurant, famous for it's pecan crusted grouper, crab stuffed shrimp and hand made truffels. Other amazing eats are the Alligator Soul, a place known for soul food. You will give your taste buds a thrill indeed when you try there shrimp gumbo, fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits.
Pirate's House, another famous Savannah eatery offers NC trout, venison and lamb.  If you are in the mood for pastries, tea and cucumber sandwiches then the Gryphon tea room and Firefly Cafe are must visit places.
Savannah is known for it's history and Southern charm, trust me, it's place you will be glad you visited.
Check out our Southern wedding favors, they also will compliment your Savannah experience.

Accessories for a blushing bride!

If you want to go beyond the pale and incorporate a bit of color into your wedding you might love the newest variation on white to hit the wedding aisle, BLUSH.
In recent years brides have chosen white, ivory and even platinum but the newest shade is now blush pink. This is an especially lovely color for feminine and second time brides. If you have chosen a blush colored wedding gown and perhaps wish to make this color part of your theme then dare I say you might love looking at blush or Champagne colored accessories. Here are some gorgeous choices, first  the Bella Donna Collection by Ivy Lane Design, it comes with a guest book and pen set, flower basket and ring pillow. It's a gorgeous lace ensemble that you will love handing down to future brides. You might love pale peach or pink roses in your bouquet and don't forget to add touches of blush through out your wedding.

How to avoid those tacky wedding favors

It happens to almost everyone, they go to a wedding and come away with tacky wedding favors. What are tacky wedding favors you ask? That's an easy one to answer, tacky favors, include plastic wedding bells, bobble head brides, shot glasses with the happy couple's names and wedding date ( what can you do with one shot glass with another person's name on it?) cookies and droopy chocolate bars. These of course are just a few favors you want to avoid handing out at your wedding.
If you really want  elegant, and  unique favors that your guests will appreciate and not be embarrassed to take home then here are some ideas. Beautiful candles, measuring spoons, coffee favors and one of my all time favorites, soap wedding favors, sachets and bath powder are also part of this triangle.
Guests can take soap wedding favors home and indulge in a heavenly bath or shower. A beautiful candle can be lit for a special dinner or during that bubble bath. Measuring spoons with sweet sentiments engraved on them will be used many times by a busy cook. You can always personalize with elegant tags that can be removed after the wedding.
One thing to remember, give your guests something they will use, let it be good quality and please understand that a favor thrown in the trash can be very embarrassing to you the happy couple.

Beautiful memory boxes for keeping your wedding memories

Your wedding is one of the most memorable days of your life. That being said, every bride wants to keep those memories in a place where she can go back and fondly relive those moments of happiness. A beautiful memory box is just the place to house your precious memories. A memory box can be just a plain wooden box or a beautifully decorated keepsake that you might wish to keep and hand down to your own daughter or future generations. Two particularly beautiful keepsake or memory boxes we have here at Love Your Wedding is the Rose Blush memory box and the Serene beauty keepsake box. The rose blush box is a lush creation made of Charmeuse satin, embellished with gorgeous roses, floral accents and organza ribbons. It is so beautiful the picture dosen't do it justice.
The Serene beauty keepsake box is made of fine wood and is imprinted with a serene beauty in flowing gown and bonnet, a startlingly gorgeous box to be treasured and handed down to other beauties. These special treasure boxes can be found in Southern wedding favors or on our bridesmaid gifts page. Which ever one you choose it will be a keepsake to cherish and a home for treasured photos, letters, mementos and other sweet memories.

Ideas for what to do with left over favors after your wedding

It's a dilemma many couples face after the honeymoon is over, what do we do with these left over favors? There are many things to factor in when deciding whether to toss it or wrap it up and give it as a Christmas present to dear Aunt Helen. Here are some thoughts to chew on.
1. Is the favor edible, expensive, theme oriented or completely weddingish? What is weddingish you ask? It's something that has wedding, congratulations or your names and wedding date on it. That is a gift that would be very impractical to hand out to dear Aunt Helen at Christmas. She would know immediately that it was a left over from your big day. Now if it is a candle or coasters or bottle stopper, you can easily give that out as a gift but be careful who you are gifting your gift to, they might recognize it immediately for what it really is, a left over wedding favor.
A honey jar filled with golden honey might be delicious and practical but that label with your names and wedding date is a big red flag that you are giving a second hand wedding gift and feelings might get hurt. Some favors can be repackaged and no one is the wiser (unless they came to your wedding).
2. If you've decided to hand out those left over favors to unsuspecting friends and family, the best thing to do is repackage! Choose beautiful gift wrap and ribbons, place the favors in new containers and with a few snips of the scissors,  pieces of tape and  pretty bows you have a gorgeous present dear Aunt Helen will love. Repackaging can make all the difference.

Happy gift wrapping!

Rainy Day Bride

I know many people are sun worshippers but I'm just not one of them. There is something about a rainy day!
The way the sky darkens, that crisp feeling in the air, the first sprinkles, I love it! If you are such a girl you might even choose a day or location when you know it's going to rain. Yes, I said you might love getting married in the rain or love the pitter patter of rain drops on the roof as you recite your vows.
Your wedding will be a cozy affair to say the least if it does rain. Have umbrellas on hand, covered reception areas and hold your dress up so it dosen't drag on a wet ground. Most of all have fun and one last idea, choose a really cute favor for your guests, maybe one with a rainy day theme like an orchid candle
or a lovely cherry blossom coaster. Remember flowers just love the rain.

How to have a sweet smelling bridal shower!

It just comes naturally if you are born a girl, this love of sweet smelling things. Since we were small lasses dressing up in our mother's high heels and pearls we have loved dabbing perfume behind our ears. As we matured into young women, this love of fragrance grew into a full blown passion for perfumes, sachets and and all manner of scentful things.
If you are one of these girly girls and it's time for your bridal shower then perhaps you might consider a bath or soap favor to hand out at the shower. Packaged in pretty boxes these favors are sure to be a hit and will be enjoyed long after your shower ends. Here are some suggestions, an old fashioned watering can filled with bath powder and embellished with a shy daisy, or perhaps a fragrant rose sachet the girls can tuck into there lingere drawers. If you are dreaming of becoming a beach bride then adorable flip flop soaps will hit the right note. You have so many options and choices available to you, remember you can't go wrong selecting a sweet smelling bridal shower favor.

"Sharp Dressed Man" elegant vintage groom attire

There's just something about a sharp dressed man! When it's time to say I do then of course you want to look your best. It's normal for all the attention to be showered on the bride and what she will wear but the groom should be dressed in his best as well.
If you are getting married in a Vintage, Southern or Traditional type wedding then you will want to consider shopping for clothes that reflect polish and sophistication ! Some good places to start are on the web, history books and men's specialty stores.
Upper class gentlemen generally dressed in tail coats, white linen shirts and suave top hats. These clothes ran the gamet of white, grey, dark  navy or black tuxedos. Bow ties and waist coats reflected in the details. If you are searching for your own sharp dressed man look then these ideas are a good place for you to start!

It's the little things that will add charm and sophistication to your wedding!

Have you ever heard the saying "It's the little things that count"? Well in the case of planning your wedding you will find it especially meaningful. It's all the little details and special touches that you will remember most, like a lace handkerchief, or wearing a diamond pendant or carrying your grandmother's bible.
I have always loved flowers and God's small creatures like hummingbirds, honey bees and butterflies, so useful and so beautiful, that's why a lovely Bloembox habitat garden favor would be a perfect selection at my wedding. This whimsical creation is a gorgeous flower box topped off by colorful blooms and small representatives from our gardens. Flower seed favors make memorable gifts and one your guests will cherish for a long time to come. Make your wedding special with charming touches and you will make a memory to last a life time.

How to find a picturesque country church to get married in

Years ago when I used to visit a friend in college, I became enchanted by the little country churches I saw along the way as I drove there. Some churches were old and dilapidated but many others were whitewashed and well maintained with their stained glass windows and climbing roses. I knew a lot of work and love had gone into maintaining these lovely old buildings and I could just imagine the weddings, picnics and pie sales that had taken place there.
If you have an image of an old country church for your wedding, check out online where these churches are in your vicinity. Read up on the history and background of communities in your area. Seek out recommendations from historical societies and libraries. One good idea would be to just drive the old country roads and if you see a church that catches your eye, get the number and name of the church and minister. Odds are they would be delighted to have you!

What is the mystique of a Southern Belle Bride?

Ever since Scarlett O'Hara danced across the silver screen little Southern girls have grown up longing to become  Southern Belle Brides. There is a mystique and fascination associated with the image of a soft spoken beauty with a spine of steel who enchants and conquers all those around her. The Southern belle beauty has garnered quiet a following across the world and some girls love playing up that picture to the hilt, that's why there dream wedding starts with a bell shaped gown and a swirling staircase for making a grand entrance.
Southern belle brides love applause and of course only the best of everything will do. Silk and lace gowns paired with pretty parasols are a must as are Camillas and Magnolia blossoms tied with gauze ribbons. Fine china, crystal and superb wines must be laid out on elegant reception tables. When food is served, barbeque tops the menu along with Mint juleps and iced tea to drink. Southern belle brides love giving gifts so only the finest favors will do. Exquisite silk fans, sweet smelling soaps and wine bottle stoppers would be natural choices for these brides. When you meet a Southern belle bride odds are you will never forget her.

Will you sparkle at your wedding?

Bridal fashion and jewelry have always fascinated me. I enjoy looking through wedding magazines at the newest gowns and ideas for jewelry. Some brides sparkle like a star lit sky while other brides opt for the  little pearl necklaces and earrings. Personally I love sparkling rhinestones, the flashier the better, of course you will need to weigh your jewelry on how much glitter you have on your wedding gown. Sparkle is nice, gaudy is not. If your wedding gown is rather plain and simple then  a crystal cuff bracelet and a rhinestone necklace will offer a lovely balance. If you wear a gown with glittering filigree woven through then a more demure necklace with a diamond or sapphire pendant might be more appropriate. Your jewelry selection should compliment your gown not distract from it. Choose wisely.

Unique beach wedding ideas that go beyond sea shells and star fish

I love the beach, white sand, the breeze ruffling the waves and the  salty smell of the sea. The beach is also a favorite place for couples to get married and I must admit it would top my list as well. Beach weddings seem to have an over abundance of two things, sea shells and star fish. Shell place card holders, pictures of sea shells and star fish on mint tins and favors are made from these two items. I love sea shells and star fish but for a beach wedding here are some more unique ideas you might not have thought of. Sea horses or sea dragons fashioned into crystal and rhinestone brooches that adorn ring pillows and flower baskets. Wedding cakes carved to resemble sand castles, place card holders and bottle stoppers created to look like playful dolphins or made of coral. Sea dollar coasters and if you really have to have seashells then scatter some on reception tables for a total beach effect. Weigh your options and shop around for some good ideas, after all a beach wedding should go beyond just seashells and starfish.

Ambiance, creating your wedding environment!

Ambiance, it defines atmosphere, that which encompasses or surrounds. Every wedding has a setting, whether  you marry in  the hustle and bustle of city hall or on a romantic beach in Hawaii,  your environment will set the tone for ambiance. If you plan a Vintage wedding you would invite a little slice of history, old things, lace and antiques. All these things create an atmosphere of days gone by when life was more simple, manners were of great importance and tradition reigned supreme. The little props, background, attire, favors and flowers all create and contribute to ambiance at our wedding, that's why you need to choose carefully when planning your special day. Go online and comb the internet for interesting ideas, blogs, and websites when selecting your products. Unique favors, beach favors, elegant or glamorous accessories will contribute to atmosphere and interplay with atmosphere at your wedding, as a matter of fact it will be of importance in setting the scene. You would never decorate with antiques and lace at an aquarium wedding  scene, what would they contribute? Better to decorate with seashells, dolphin bottle stoppers or mermaid soaps for favors and palm fronds and hibiscus flowers in large vases as decor. This would add to that sea or tropical island feel you want. When planning your wedding remember,  what is your theme? What do you associate with your colors, beliefs and setting. Choose wisely!

Putting unique into your wedding

Every little girl dreams of her special day. When the time finally arrives for you to plan your wedding you are probably looking for something unique that you can add your own signature to and says this is ME. It does not matter what theme  you choose, beach, vintage, garden, fall or winter, you can make this wedding truly your own with some unique ideas.
For a beach wedding, instead of star fish or sea shells how about sand castles, coral and dolphins, this is a lovely combination. Some great favor ideas would be coral place card holders and display coral bottle stoppers as favors next to each plate on reception tables.
A Vintage wedding can be truly spectacular with some touches of a by gone era. Display large crystal vases filled with roses or Gerbera daisies. Silver place card holders display names while a choice for favors might include soaps, silk fans or a romantic "Key to my heart" bottle opener.
Fall or Winter weddings will include more dramatic colors and heavier materials. Prancing horses pulling a sleigh or carriage will make you the bride feel like a real princess. Festoon the vehicle of choice with colorful ribbons and bows. Next to each place on your reception tables place favor boxes filled with soaps, candles or chocolates. Beautiful favor boxes are fun to open and can be keepsakes for your guests to carry home.
Make your wedding UNIQUE.

Color Themes for Fall Weddings

Color Themes for Fall Weddings
Fall is a gorgeous time of year. Colorful leaves mesmerize leaf peepers, windy afternoons are spent at foot ball games, candy apples are dunked for Halloween and the world braces for a changing of the seasons. Fall is the inbetween time of the hot summer months and the cold winter season. It is also a time when an adventurous bride decides to hold her wedding. Autumn is known for spectacular oranges, reds and gold colors but who said you had to have these colors at your wedding? Perhaps you just don't want a Halloween type wedding or orange bridesmaids dresses and favors. Dear bride, here are some fall color themes you might not have thought about. Royal blue or platinum dresses that remind you of frosty mornings would be ideal, combine this with a gorgeous peacock accessory set complete with guestbook, pen, garters and flower basket and you have a combination fit for a Queen. Peacock feathers arranged in vases and mixed with ferns makes a stunning display that will long be remembered. Burgundy, pink and  chocolate brown  or black also make for memorable displays and combinations. Fall is a time of change and beauty, when the old charm makes way for a new beginning and it is a grand time to hold a wedding of your dreams.
